Schedule for the 50th Anniversary weekend: Saturday, April 6th: 5:00 Mass, St. Martha's 7:00 Anniversary Dance, Manor East Sunday, April 7th: After 10:30 Mass, repast at St. Martha's The K of C Cafe will be up and running on Friday, April 12th 7-10pm, at the American Legion Hall in Uniondale. We'll be serving food to members and guests (about $5 per meal, to be finalized later) (and singing Happy Birthday to our Grand Knight, Bill Brown!)

game together ASAP. the money is due to west point June 14th. It
is imperative that you let me know if
you are going this year ASAP. I will set a final date very soon, It is
tentatively June 14th payable to either me or PGK Bob Powell if need be! NO
EXCUSES!!!! The price is $100.00 per ticket and again we will be leaving
out of Mackies heading for the meadowlands. I will have more details to
follow. anyone wishing to go that hasn't gone already I will put them on
the waiting list! They must contact me!

Nomination time! It's that time of year again. If you're interested in running for office for 2002-2003, and if you're a current officer, let the Nomination Committee know of your intentions, or stop by the American Legion Hall 7:00 pm, Wednesday March 20th. The committee consists of our Trustees PGK Ray Caluori, Frank Marando, PGK Jim Munson We also need chairmen for Catholic Advocacy, or Pro Life (or they could be combined). See us! If you're looking for an additional night out, our friends at Pope Pius XII in East Meadow and St. Therese the Little Flower in Valley Stream have invited Powell Council to attend their events: Pope Pius' Spring Dance on May 11th at St. Raphael's ($45/couple. $25/person. Let us know if you're going) and St. Therese's Dance on April 13th ($25/person-let us know by Wednesday if you're going). And coming up in the future: June 2nd: Communion Breakfast, St. Martin de Porres Saturday, July 20th: Annual Picnic Join us at St. Martha's! The first Sunday of every month we worship together at the 10:30 Mass, followed by coffee, rolls, and fellowship in the church basement. All are invited! "Worthy Grand Knight, I am pleased with the restored presence of Knights at the 10:30 Mass for the First Sunday of the Month. It is an excellent witness in faith to the parish and you are to be complimented for your personal leadership in this regard. Remember, the Council that prays together stays together. Sincerely, Rev. Special meeting notes All third degree members are invited to (and officers and delegates should attend) all District Deputy and Chapter Meetings. Our February social meeting (on the 20th) will be "C & B appreciation night." We'll be thanking the merchants who permitted us to sell in front of their establishments. Later this year, Pope John XXIII Assembly will be visiting Powell Council to award a brother Knight for Flying the Flag on a daily basis. Powell Council member on the radio
If you like Irish Music, tune into WRHU Radio, 88.7 FM, Hofstra University Saturdays 3-5 pm, for the Long Ireland Show. It's hosted by Pat Thompson, who's served Powell Council as Grand Knight, and District Warden PGK Bob Flieger says hi! He was Grand Knight for Powell Council in '66-'67. In 1975 his job took him to North Jersey, where he subsequently transferred to help start up Elizabeth Ann Seton Council #6904. For those who remember him and wish to keep in touch, He's not online, but his council is, and they'll get word to him. Father McGivney Guild All Brother Knights should be supporting the cause for sainthood for our Founder, Rev. Michael J. McGivney. Membership is free (donations are accepted), and you'll get a bi-monthly newsletter updating you on the progress towards the cause for Fr. McGivney's Sainthood. Phone prefect and E-mail lists The Phone prefect list is now in effect. It's to keep members of Powell Council informed of wakes, meeting cancellations, or any news that can't wait for the next Powellite (and remember not all our members are online!) GK Bill Brown is the first contact, and he'll get the ball rolling. To find out more about the phone prefect list, see PGK Ray Caluori. Ray also wants to hear from Powell Council members who wish to be callers for the prefect list. An E-mail directory has also been established for Powell Council members. It's another great way to keep connected with Powell Council. If you're a Powell Council member, you should be in it!!
