A salute to Charlie's Angels |
I want to pay tribute to a group of men whom you'll never see again in our lifetime. They met every Tuesday morning without fail at the council to volunteer their services from 9 am - noon. they cleaned, they swept, they painted, they shampooed the carpets, they repaired when needed. The list goes on and on. And in the spring, Summer, and early Fall, their expertise took them outside to be lawn doctors and landscapers. They were dedicated.
Now all these activities were ordered by their 'boss' Charlie Maglienti, who was referred to as the "archangel." Now Charlie was more than dedicated. You would find him down at the council almost every day of the week to look over things as to be ready for his Angels.
(Webmaster's note: The Angels were a big part of our council for many years. In addition to their help on Tuesday mornings, they were fixtures at all council meetings and functions, giving support when it was needed most. When our building was sold in 2000, the Angels were disbanded. They are, and will be, sorely missed)
