Welcome to Robert W. Powell Council 3488!
"Together we aspire, together we achieve"

Welcome back to Powell Council's website! We've been serving Powell Council since November 4, 1999, and like anything that has stood the test of time, a facelift was in order. We're going to an "old" look as we're moving into our new home: St. Martha's Bethany Hall!

We've always been big on tradition here at Powell Council, and if you're an old-time Powell Council member, take a close look at the "new" logo: the outline is an exaggerated outline of our old building! In fact, note the logo itself: the inside is a close facsimile of Powell Council's original banner! Compare it to the logo on the "Council history page."

And after that, why not check out the entire site? We'll update whenever there's news of our favorite council. More Council news can be found by click on "Council News" on the left. And on your right, you can download the latest Powellite!

We also have a new cyber-home: Knightsite.com! Plus if you plug in the domain name, www.koc3488.org, that will get you here, too!

If you've ever wondered just who we are and what we do, click here!

Save the date: Saturday, September 17th. It's PGK William Ludewig's Testimonial. Click on the council news page for details.

We're Uniondale's council in the Knights of Columbus, the world's largest Catholic fraternal organization. The Knights, often called "the right arm of the Catholic Church," were founded by Rev. Michael J. McGivney in 1882.

"The Knights of Columbus are always there for us in good times and in bad . . . thank you (Knights) for all you do." -William F. Murphy, Bishop of Rockville Centre

Robert W. Powell council began on March 9, 1952. We serve Uniondale, St. Martha's Parish, and our country under the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. We meet at St. Martha's Bethany Hall in Uniondale on the first Wednesday of every month at 8:00 pm.

"(Knights of Columbus) represent the very best in Catholic manhood." -Rev. Anthony Heinlein, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Massapequa Park

All practicing Catholic men 18 years of age and older are encouraged to join the Knights of Columbus. Catholic boys between the ages of 10 and 18 in the Uniondale area are welcome to join our Squires Circle, Rev. John J. Byrne #999.

Our mailing address is P.O. Box 130, Uniondale, N.Y.11553, our phone number is (516) 481-2578. Or you may e-mail us.

"The Knights of Columbus stand for what's clean, moral, wholesome, and effective in American manhood when that is crowned with the teachings of Holy Mother Church . . . " -Archbishop John Ireland, 1898
